Bodie ghost town

I spent this past weekend in Tahoe with a few of the fellas and I decided to take a small detour on the way up. I drove about an extra hour to visit Bodie California. Bodie is a ghost town that was the site of a huge gold rush in the late 1800's. In 1880 Bodie had a population of 10,000 people and was at one point the second largest town in California. At that time it was a real old west town with gun fights and everything. They stopped mining in the early 1900's and a fire destroyed most of the town in 1932. Only 5 percent of the original town is left standing in a state of "arrested decay". Basically they keep things from falling down but things are as they were when people left. It's an interesting place to walk around and spend the day.
